Opponents of the proposed cemetery south of Ashlawn Road in Rugby say it would spoil the view. There are also concerns over traffic issues. Rugby Borough Council has submitted a joint application with nearby Daventry District Council in Northamptonshire. The borough council said it needed the site as it was running out of burial space.

Organisiert wird der Aktionstag vom Eigenbetrieb Geraer Stadtgrün, Forsten und Friedhöfe gemeinsam mit vielen Akteuren wie Bestattungsinstituten, Steinmetzen, Gärtnern und Floristen, Vereinen und Kirchen, der Seelsorge des SRH Wald-Klinikums Gera, der Staatlichen Berufsbildenden Schule Gewerbliche Berufe und der Integrierten Gesamtschule.
